Evaluation7 : Looking back at your preliminary task (the school magazine task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

Looking back at my preliminary task and looking at the finalise piece, I believe that I have learnt a lot and have gained new skills.

Some of the new skills I have learnt are things like, how to use Photoshop. I now know how to edit my photographs and how to use different tools on Photoshop so that I can create various things and move/edit images etc.

Other skills I feel I have achieved by doing this project is how to use equipment in order to take a professional looking photo. The sort of equipment I have used are thing such as professional lighting equipment, SLR cameras and light reflecting equipment. I have also gained confidence with my directing skills and I feel as if my work standard has improved as I have closely studied and analysed other magazines. I have learnt how to successfully operate a professional SLR camera and I now understand the different settings etc and I feel as if my knowledge and understanding of media technology has improved.
Through analysing other magazines and gathering primary research, I have learnt how to use the essential music magazine conventions to give my magazine to the most attractive and appealing look to my target audience.

I feel I have learnt how to use a variety of writing techniques and fonts to appeal to specific audiences. For example I have found that the older the age group the more sophisticated the fonts and writing need to be to appeal to them. Whereas the fonts and writing styles that are used for younger ages need to be more simple so that it is fun so and it would hold their attention.
